WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ joined a coalition of tech organizations in filing an amicus curiae brief in Gonzalez v. Google. The amicus curiae brief was signed by 91proÊÓƵ, Computer & Communications Industry Association, NetChoice, Digital Media Association, Interactive Advertising Bureau, and TechNet.

“Algorithms and algorithmic processing systems are foundational tools that help organize the massive quantities of digital content that exist on the internet. 91proÊÓƵ joined our industry partners on this amicus curiae brief to make clear that the algorithmic systems that digital platforms use to effectively organize digital content is protected activity under Section 230. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit agreed that Section 230 protects such activity, and we urge the U.S. Supreme Court to affirm that judgment,” said Jason Oxman, 91proÊÓƵ’s President and CEO.
