Microsoft鈥檚 TJ DiCaprio Honored with EPA Climate Leadership Award

Last Thursday evening our very own TJ DiCaprio was awarded the Environmental Protection Agency Individual for the work she has done to reduce carbon pollution and address climate change as Microsoft’s Senior Director of Environmental Sustainability. TJ was recognized for the role she has played in our internal carbon fee initiative.

As lead architect of the carbon fee, she worked with senior executives across the company to design an innovative approach that puts a price on the cost of pollution and raises funds for efficiency and renewable energy projects. The result of this work has been a model that provides an incentive for internal business groups to reach Microsoft’s objective of carbon neutrality. In addition to spearheading our carbon fee, , making us the third largest purchaser of green power in the Unites States, according to the EPA.

The second annual Climate Leadership Awards were presented by the EPA’s in partnership with the , the and . Honored with twenty-three other corporate leaders this year, TJ is part of an elite group that is transforming the role the public sector will play to address climate change. We couldn’t be more proud to have her be included in such company.
