WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ released the following statement from its Executive Vice President Sean P. Murphy in response to President Trump’s on digital services taxes and a permanent moratorium on customs duties on electronic transmissions:

Businesses operating globally need certainty to innovate, fuel entrepreneurship, create jobs, and reach consumers. Today’s directives identify some important policy issues that could enable transformative U.S. technology companies to access global markets. To that end, we encourage the Administration to work closely with industry stakeholders and with other governments to secure better outcomes, including the immediate withdrawal of all digital services tax measures currently in place and securing agreement on a permanent moratorium on customs duties on electronic transmissions.
