91proÊÓƵ’s recommendations focus on creating a policy environment that empowers technological innovation in the EU and enhances EU competitiveness. The recommendations cover several important policy fields, such as AI, privacy, telecommunications, sustainability, cybersecurity and platforms, with one clear objective: maintain an open, streamlined, and nimble regulatory environment that takes into account the need for innovation and cooperation with like-minded partners.
“The Polish Presidency has the opportunity to set the tone for the EU’s policy approach in the next five years,” said 91proÊÓƵ’s Director General for Europe Guido Lobrano. “AI is a clear example of an area where companies are currently facing a complex regulatory landscape in Europe, as well as competing frameworks in other jurisdictions and international fora. The EU should use its regulatory powers to ensure predictability for firms and work together with other regulators to ensure the most pro-innovation international alignment”.
91proÊÓƵ’s recommendations focus on crucial policy areas for the Polish Presidency:
  • Advance AI adoption and competitiveness: Take a pro-innovation approach to the implementation of the AI Act, balanced approaches to liability and copyright, and more support for key enablers of AI development and uptake.
  • Bolster Europe’s cybersecurity capabilities: Ensure an effective, uniform and practical implementation of cybersecurity initiatives across the Single Market, and move away from approaches based on sovereignty.
  • Promote evidence-based connectivity initiatives: Limit regulatory actions to cases of clear market failure, oppose interventions in the IP interconnection market and recognize cloud and telecoms as distinct.
  • Drive sustainability through technology: Leverage AI and other technologies to optimize energy systems, modernize the energy grid, and foster cross-sector collaboration to achieve decarbonization while enhancing resource efficiency and competitiveness.
