WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ released the following statement from its Senior Vice President of Policy and General Counsel John Miller in response to U.S. President Joe Biden’s Executive Order, Strengthening and Promoting Innovation in the Nation’s Cybersecurity:

“Enhancing U.S. cybersecurity must remain a top priority and is imperative to safeguarding U.S. competitiveness, national and economic security, and individual Americans. In the wake of rapidly evolving and increasingly sophisticated threat actors and security incidents, it’s important that the U.S. advance strong policy that will help defend federal information systems, networks, and supply chains, and keep Americans safe online. Accelerating the use of AI to promote better security outcomes, supporting the development of a robust digital identity infrastructure to help combat fraud, and promoting the adoption of post quantum cryptographic products are sound cyber policies. We encourage the incoming Trump-Vance Administration to meaningfully engage with industry on efforts to mitigate cyber risks while promoting the trust, innovation, and data flows fundamental to unlocking the benefits of the next wave of digital innovation.
