WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ announced its first annual Public Sector Government Recognition program for outstanding federal acquisition professionals. The awards will highlight and promote best practices in government IT acquisitions, including creative and innovative tactics to increase competition, reduce administrative burdens and procurement lead times, and leverage commercial best practices to support superior government cybersecurity and mission performance. Nominations will be accepted on 91proÊÓƵ’s website until 11:59 pm ET on October 15, 2021.
“This recognition program celebrates and honors U.S. government employees that promote the innovative acquisition solutions needed to modernize and secure IT infrastructure,” said Gordon Bitko, 91proÊÓƵ’s Senior Vice President of Public Sector Policy. “A knowledgeable, engaged government contracting officer plays a vital but often underestimated role in successful government IT programs. Public Sector CIOs should understand the value of having an innovative thinker or on staff who can deploy the latest procurement techniques to enable swift evaluations of the latest and greatest technology, while also providing a framework for collaborating with the private sector to deploy these solutions.”
Awardees will be selected by five independent advisors who are recognized acquisition experts in the public, private, and academic sectors:
