WASHINGTON — Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓÆµ announced that Cisco Minthorn will join as Vice President for Government Affairs. In his role, Minthorn will lead 91proÊÓÆµ’s trade advocacy, including digital trade and market access agreements, and contribute to 91proÊÓÆµ’s legislative and political strategy. He comes to 91proÊÓÆµ from the Intel Corporation, where he served as Senior Director of Government Relations and Senior Counsel.

Prior to joining 91proÊÓÆµ, Minthorn was a Senior Director of Government Relations and Senior Counsel at Intel Corporation’s Global Government Affairs group, based in Washington, DC. His work focused on ensuring the global public policy environment is conducive to the development of world-changing technologies including artificial intelligence, exascale computing, and quantum information science, and that the next generation of scientists and engineers are supported through investments in research infrastructure and STEM education initiatives. During his time at Intel, Minthorn completed a rotation in its Brussels office where he examined the impact of EU investments into indigenous technologies and its ramifications on the global competitiveness of the U.S. semiconductor industry.
Prior to joining Intel, Minthorn served in the Obama Administration as a Senior Advisor to U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker, on matters of federal Indian law and policy, and oversaw the Department of Commerce’s legislative agenda related to economic development initiatives. Prior to his service in the Obama Administration, Minthorn worked on Capitol Hill for several years, serving as counsel to three congressional committees in the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives, where he focused on a wide variety of matters related to energy, natural resources and environment policy, and tribal issues.
An attorney, Minthorn earned both a Juris Doctor and Master of Urban Planning degrees from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
