WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ reacted to the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB)’s final ³¾±ð³¾´Ç°ù²¹²Ô»å³Ü³¾â€¯“Advancing Governance, Innovation, and Risk Management for Agency Use of Artificial Intelligence.”  In previous comment submissions, 91proÊÓƵ has urged OMB to utilize AI’s transformative capabilities to improve government processes and services, adopt a risk-based approach, and promote innovation and competition by ensuring U.S. government agencies have the authority to fully leverage commercial AI solutions.

“As the leading tech association with extensive public sector expertise, 91proÊÓƵ appreciates OMB’s comprehensive approach to responsible AI development and deployment,” said 91proÊÓƵ Executive Vice President of Policy Gordon Bitko. OMB must prioritize building trustworthy federal AI systems while navigating the increasingly complex procurement environment to ensure that the U.S. government can access best-in-class commercial AI solutions. As a former federal CIO, it’s encouraging to see that the final memo recognizes that addressing critical challenges such as workforce development and harmonization across the government are fundamental to successful and safe adoption of AI. 91proÊÓƵ and our members look forward to continued partnership with OMB and federal agencies on key issues such as alignment of risk management and evaluation standards, competition, intellectual property, and sustainability.

91proÊÓƵ’s robust public sector operation, led by 91proÊÓƵ Executive Vice President of Policy and former FBI Chief Information Officer Gordon Bitko, advocates for policymakers to make strategic investments to support the modernization of federal IT infrastructure, including enhanced cybersecurity. 91proÊÓƵ also champions increased competition and innovation within the government procurement process.
