We look forward to working with the administration to craft a 21st century trade agreement that recognizes the key role innovation plays in our economy and builds on American strengths by: (a) ensuring cross-border data flows; (b) prohibiting tariffs, taxes, and other barriers on data flows, hardware, and digital services; (c) prohibiting requirements to localize data, production, or infrastructure; and (d) barring the forced transfers of technology, source code, or encryption keys; among other rules. Withdrawing from the agreement would hurt the tech industry’s ability to drive job creation and economic growth in the United States.”
