WASHINGTON — Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ issued the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman on the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework’s regarding negotiations to address the tax challenges arising from the digitalization of the economy:
“91proÊÓƵ supports the ongoing efforts through the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework to reach a solution to address the digitalization of the global economy. Today’s announcement provides greater clarity in how governments intend to reform the international tax system and we look forward to analyzing the new developments. We are encouraged by the governments’ commitment not to impose newly enacted unilateral tax measures on any company. At the same time, we continue to call for the urgent withdrawal of all those unilateral tax measures currently in place, which undermine the international tax system and have negative ramifications for all industries that do business across borders. It’s critical that governments continue their efforts to advance a global tax system that promotes investment and innovation and provides certainty and predictability for businesses.”
