WASHINGTON – Today, The Green Grid (TGG) a new, revamped tool to measure and improve data center efficiency. Globally, data centers and their data transmission networks consume a significant and growing amount of the world’s power.
Leveraging expertise from industry leaders, TGG’s tool enables data center architects and finance professionals to better understand how they are utilizing energy and assessing different alternatives. Recent innovations and more efficient liquid cooling solutions are increasingly conserving data center resources and reducing expenses. Furthermore, sustainability reporting requirements encourage both data center operators and owners to improve performance and achieve higher levels of energy efficiency, resource conservation, and reuse.
TGG’s Liquid Cooling Total Cost of Ownership Calculation Tool (tggTCOSM) is a web-based tool that demonstrates how different liquid cooling methods can impact a data center’s financial and operational return on an investment. It will also enable business and financial analysts to evaluate the tradeoffs and potential savings before major data center designs and build decisions.
"The Green Grid is proud to launch this improved version of its Liquid Cooling TCO Calculation Tool to enable more efficient data center designs and promote sustainable change. The Green Grid was founded with the collective viewpoint that improving energy efficiency in data centers is one of the most important issues for our members. This new version of our tool is a major step forward in enabling data center owners and operators to address this challenge,” said Erica Thomas, Director of The Green Grid. "As data centers grow rapidly, access to the most efficient best practices for their performance is an important element to enable industry innovation, and TGG is proud to play a part in moving the needle."
The tggTCO Calculation Tool has been used by trade professionals since 2016 and licenses to use this updated version can now be purchased.
