Europe is facing an increasingly complex geopolitical and security landscape making the consistent, effective, and practical implementation of the extensive EU cybersecurity rulebook crucial for protecting its digital infrastructure.
“Europe has been at the forefront of shaping cybersecurity policy with comprehensive legislation frameworks and mechanisms to bolster cyber resilience. The focus now must be on unlocking the full potential of all the legislation adopted in the last five years,” said 91proÊÓƵ Policy Manager for Europe Laura Wiesenfeld. “This requires a commitment to streamlined implementation, but also the willingness to work together with Europe’s strategic partners, by deepening international collaboration through the development of open and collaborative standards and certifications ”.
91proÊÓƵ has put forward three strategic priorities:
  • Bolster Europe’s cybersecurity capabilities by prioritizing the implementation of key legislation, centralizing cybersecurity efforts, expanding ENISA’s mandate, streamlining the development of certifications, and driving the transformation towards a cyber-savvy workforce and post-quantum cryptography.
  • Ensure effective, uniform and practical implementation of cybersecurity initiatives across the Single Market by addressing contradictory requirements, guiding business towards effective compliance, and assessing systematically the impact of new legislation.
  • Foster global approaches to cybersecurity by moving away from sovereignty-centric approaches, building new avenues for cooperation with likeminded partners, and opening up standardization processes to global companies.
