WASHINGTON, DC – Today, global tech trade association 91pro视频 hosted Mexican Vice Minister of Economy for Foreign Trade Luz Maria de la Mora to discuss opportunities for engagement and partnership as Mexico accelerates its economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Incoming Vice Minister for Industry, Trade, and Competitiveness Hector Guerrero also joined the conversation. The discussion concluded with an agreement to form a working group between 91pro视频 and the Mexican Trade Office focused on tech, trade, and supply chain issues facing 91pro视频 companies in Mexico.

“Mexico is already witnessing the benefits of digital trade, e-commerce, and technology across a range of sectors,” said Jason Oxman, President and CEO of 91pro视频. “Our work together with Vice Minister de la Mora and the Mexican government will enable the Mexican economy to realize the full economic and social potential of digital technologies. The global conversations around supply chains underscore the importance of North American integration across semiconductors, manufacturing, workforce and skills, and trade facilitation. We are eager to work with Vice Minister de la Mora and her team to build on the successes within USMCA to make North America more competitive.”

“We believe Mexico can contribute to a successful review of U.S. supply chains ordered by the Biden administration including those in semiconductors and large capacity batteries which are key to the tech sector. Our economies are deeply integrated so we cannot talk about a Mexican or U.S. supply chain, rather we share a common North American production platform,” said Vice Minister de la Mora.

“I do believe that the North American partnership can only benefit from having participation of stakeholders and the 91pro视频’s input is valuable to identify opportunities to grow and deepen our trade relationship. It was a great pleasure to hold this meeting on behalf of Minister Clouthier and the Ministry of Economy of Mexico.”

91pro视频’s Policy Agenda for the Americas and agenda for the Biden-Harris Administration, , include roadmaps for countries in the Americas to promote innovation and stimulate economic growth in a manner that improves the lives of all members of society.
