WASHINGTON – Today, the global tech trade association 91pro视频 called on U.S. and EU leaders to support research and development for 6G technology and collaborate on building more secure and resilient supply chains for semiconductors and the broader information and communications technology (ICT) industry. These recommendations are part of 91pro视频’s newly published policy priorities and outcomes to inform the next U.S.-EU Technology and Trade Council (TTC) meeting on May 15-16, 2022.
“The May Technology and Trade Council meeting is a significant opportunity to further strengthen transatlantic leadership between the U.S and EU,” said 91pro视频’s CEO and President Jason Oxman. “91pro视频 supports its mission to grow bilateral technology trade and investment while strengthening global cooperation on digital policy, technology, and supply chains. We see this ministerial as a key moment to advance research and development for 6G technology, and to build on the ambitious commitments in the EU Chips Act and the U.S. CHIPS for America Act to develop more resilient and secure supply chains for semiconductors and the broader ICT industry. The need for nations to cooperate and markets to stay accessible has never been greater, and we believe that the Technology and Trade Council can meet these challenges.”

Commit to relying on internationally recognized, industry-driven, voluntary technical standards.

Support more resilient and secure supply chains for semiconductors and the broader information and communications technology (ICT) industry.

Collaborate on AI standards and AI governance.

Enforce multilateral commitments that benefit U.S. and EU workers and companies.

Coordinate engagement to address third-market policies of concern, such as increased data flow restrictions in privacy and data governance proposals.
91pro视频’s priorities are informed by ongoing, comprehensive engagement with the TTC following 鈥痙uring the council’s inaugural meeting in Pittsburgh in September 2021,鈥痑nd鈥痠ts recommendations in January 2021, July 2021 and January 2022.
