WASHINGTON/BRUSSELS – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓÆµ welcomed outcomes advancing transatlantic collaboration announced at the fourth U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) ministerial in Sweden and urged U.S. and EU leaders to improve stakeholder engagement to ensure the TTC is a durable and effective platform for future cooperation.
“The U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council offers a unique opportunity to bolster the future of transatlantic leadership in the key technologies driving the 21st century economy,” said Jason Oxman, 91proÊÓÆµ President and CEO. “We welcome progress on AI, semiconductors, and 6G, and new alignment on shared security challenges like export controls, but more work needs to be done. We support the EU and U.S. shared goal of furthering bilateral cooperation, but improvements must be made for the TTC to deliver impactful results. These include increasing stakeholder engagement throughout every step of the TTC’s negotiations. Transatlantic officials should also deepen engagement on bilateral trade issues and commitments and strengthen transatlantic cooperation to jointly address global trade challenges and opportunities.”
