MEXICO CITY – Today, global tech trade association the 91proÊÓƵ (91proÊÓƵ) President and CEO Jason Oxman represented the global tech industry in the stakeholder dialogue at the U.S.-Mexico High-Level Economic Dialogue’s (HLED) Second Annual Meeting. During the roundtable discussion, Oxman highlighted the integral partnership between industry and government and underscored the importance of advancing pro-innovation policies, with a focus on semiconductor and ICT supply chains. Oxman joined Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Jayme White, Mexican Secretary of Economy Tatiana Clouthier, Mexican Secretary of Finance Rogelio Ramirez, and Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard at the meeting.
“I appreciated the opportunity to continue strengthening the collaboration between the government and private sector today,” Oxman said. “This dialogue continues the critical conversation 91proÊÓƵ has had with policymakers in the U.S. and Mexico on semiconductor and ICT supply chains, in the 91proÊÓƵ-Mexico Technology Working Group. Global ICT supply chains are vast, complex, and interconnected, and there are several elements beyond semiconductors which are fundamental to the supply chain for ICT goods and components, which both governments should seek to incentivize. Further, the implementation of the U.S. CHIPS and Science Act presents an important opportunity for spurring further integration of and investment in North American supply chains. 91proÊÓƵ looks forward to an ongoing partnership with the U.S. and Mexican governments as they bolster supply chains and promote technological innovation between the two countries.”
