WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ issued the following statement from its Senior Manager for the Americas Husani Durans de Jesus in reaction to the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) Leaders' Summit in Washington, DC:
"The Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity framework is an excellent opportunity to drive socioeconomic growth, strengthen cultural ties, and advance good regulatory practices in the Western Hemisphere. The framework is also a chance to support regional competitiveness and improve standards and business environment in the region. To help make the partnership successful, 91proÊÓƵ urges the Biden Administration and APEP participants to renew and reemphasize the regional commitment to strengthened collaboration and to seek meaningful commitments, while keeping in mind the vital role that digital transformation and trade play in meeting these goals. Leaders should also work with the private sector to promote greater harmonization and create a more open, fair, and predictable environment for digital trade to flourish, which is essential for the region's socioeconomic future."
Last year, 91proÊÓƵ and the  released a series of recommendations to help regional policymakers foster a more resilient, dynamic, and inclusive digital ecosystem across the Americas region.
