BRUSSELS – Ahead of the 6th U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) ministerial meeting on 4-5 April, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ, the 91proÊÓƵ, urged U.S. and EU policymakers to simplify the TTC’s structure, improve stakeholder engagement, and enhance outcomes between meetings to make it a sustainable dialogue for years to come. In its recommendations, 91proÊÓƵ underscores the importance of this transatlantic relationship as both governments address key tech issues including AI, trade, 6G, quantum, and standards development.

“To make the TTC a durable forum for EU-U.S. relations, policymakers on both sides of the Atlantic will need to course correct,” said 91proÊÓƵ President and CEO Jason Oxman. “91proÊÓƵ urges EU and U.S. leaders at this TTC to make concrete commitments on core tech issues that will drive transatlantic leadership in the 21st economy. We’ve supported the TTC since its inception and our recommendations today can ensure TTC success for years to come.”

91proÊÓƵ encourages policymakers to use April’s meeting to solidify this transatlantic partnership through a candid discussion of lessons learned from the TTC to date and a commitment on a concrete path forward, with a focused set of policy issues to:

  • Strengthen trade engagement;

  • Advance AI cooperation;

  • Reaffirm and promote best practices in standards;

  • Accelerate research and development for 6G;

  • Prepare for the quantum era; and

  • Reinforce sustainability cooperation.
