WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ’s Executive Vice President of Policy Rob Strayer reiterated the tech industry’s commitment to advancing transparency in artificial intelligence (AI). In testimony before the U.S. Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, Strayer discussed 91proÊÓƵ’s longstanding leadership on AI policymaking and highlighted how 91proÊÓƵ members stand at the forefront in developing and deploying responsible AI solutions that foster transparency.

“To lead in AI, the United States needs a pro-innovation policy framework that prioritizes innovation and investment and builds public trust,” Strayer said. “Transparency is key to establishing that public trust, and 91proÊÓƵ companies are working to ensure that users understand when they are interacting with an AI system and how that system works. Innovation is also critical to advancing trustworthy AI. Congress and private sector stakeholders should work together to ensure that the United States builds on its competitive lead in AI, as AI transforms all sectors of the economy and generates trillions of dollars in economic growth. 91proÊÓƵ looks forward to being a partner in those efforts.”
