WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ released the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the Republic of India’s official state visit to the U.S. and address to a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress on June 22:
“As leaders in the global technology industry, the U.S. and India should use this essential visit to further cooperation between the two countries and foster growth for critical and emerging technologies like AI and semiconductors. The U.S. is the largest export market for the Indian IT industry, a relationship that totals $62 billion in exports to the U.S annually. We urge President Biden and Prime Minister Modi to use this opportunity to address longstanding digital trade policy and market access issues with India that could hamper competitiveness and economic opportunities for both countries.”
