WASHINGTON – Today, The Green Grid (TGG) announced that September 30, 2023 is the new deadline for a of data center energy and water use needed to update the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 1-100 ENERGY STAR score for data centers. Data center owners and operators are encouraged to participate and contribute the data needed to update the EPA ENERGY STAR Score and enable the data center industry to continue its drive towards resource and energy efficiency improvements in its facilities, and critical to the world’s fight against climate change. The survey is available .

TGG is eager to continue its partnership with the U.S. EPA and continue our work to update the EPA ENERGY STAR score for data centers,” said Erica Thomas, 91proÊÓÆµ’s Director of The Green Grid. “We encourage all data center owners and operators to take advantage of this deadline extension and participate in the survey and help in enabling data center efficiency and industry innovation.”
Completion of this voluntary survey—available to all U.S. data centers—will enable TGG to deliver the anonymized results to the EPA. The survey is applicable to a range of data centers including large data center facilities, edge, modular, and containerized data centers.
The EPA ENERGY STAR certification is an especially significant achievement for data centers. This certification is specifically designed to encourage data center operators to increase performance and energy efficiency to support the United States’ critical digital infrastructure.
How to Participate:
The TGG EPA Survey is available to all U.S. data centers. A list of EPA ENERGY STAR certified data centers is published on the EPA website .
