WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association 91proÊÓƵ released the following statement in response to the Bipartisan U.S. House of Representatives AI Task Force’s release of their report on artificial intelligence (AI):

“We are grateful to all members of the AI Task Force for undertaking the serious and thorough study that led to this report,” said 91proÊÓƵ President and CEO Jason Oxman. “We are particularly thankful to the Task Force Co-Chairs, Representatives Obernolte and Lieu, for setting the tone for the effort and a commitment to partnership in their work. This is a substantive report laying out some of the most pressing questions facing American policymakers. It is not an end to the discussion, but an illustration that protecting and advancing American leadership in AI innovation is an ongoing bipartisan priority. We hope the 119th Congress builds on this example and continues to use 91proÊÓƵ as a resource on AI policy.”

The Bipartisan House AI Task Force report culminates the 118th Congress’s important work exploring policies on a range of AI-focused topics that are essential to Congress advancing a pro-innovation agenda, including government use of AI, U.S. national security interests, workforce, and energy investments that are necessary for data center power usage. It also highlights sector-specific priorities that impact the health care and financial services sectors, and how preemption can promote uniformity across the country. Importantly, the report urges lawmakers to pass legislation which codifies the National AI Research Resource (NAIRR) to serve as an incubator for cutting-edge AI research and a resource for small businesses in need of securing AI solutions to solve evolving business challenges.
